A little mysterious friend, “Neju-Neju”, a marionette, will come to the Kageoka-no-ie to play.

Let’s talk, play, and enjoy spending time together to feel the life of marionettes.
We will also perform the play “The King of Cheese”. Enjoy the world of the story created by puppets and humans working together!

*Neju-Neju is a tiny and delicate creature and cannot be touched.

Let’s create colorful springtime Oshi-zushi!

Foods have beautiful colors and interesting shapes when you take a closer look at them. Just by changing the way vegetables are cut, not only the way they look, but also the texture and taste when eaten can change dramatically.

The colors, shapes, textures, and tastes of ingredients… by combining and cooking them while taking advantage of their charms, both color and flavor become richer.

Let’s make colorful Oshi-zushi (pressed sushi) using spring ingredients, which will please both the eyes and the palate.

Let’s make a collage sticker!

Using materials around you that your child and family cherish, you will create a collage.

Let’s look again at beautiful wrapping paper, leaves, and other small pieces of things that you would normally throw away, and enjoy the time of creation with your child.

The finished collage will be printed as fabric stickers that can be attached to notebooks, cases, and everyday items you love to use.

Annual events enjoying with Mizuhiki ornamental strings .

Setsubun is an annual event with the meaning of dividing the seasons. It is said that evil spirits and disasters tend to come in at the turning points of the seasons, and people in the olden days believed that these, including natural disasters, were the work of demons. Mamemaki”Bean-throwing is an event that was created to drive away such demons.

On the day of the workshop, Risshun (the first day of spring) is just around the corner. This is the season when animals start to move and plants begin to sprout, and we look forward to a warm spring.

Let’s make your own bean bag for Mamemaki by tying expressive ogre motifs with Mizuhiki(ornamental strings).

Let’s make your original piece and play Shogi!

If you’d like to try Shogi but it seems too difficult, this workshop is for you to learn Shogi in a fun and easy way.

Let’s learn how the pieces move and design your own pieces. After learning how to move the pieces, we will start with Tsume-Shogi, which is like a simple puzzle game.

Even complete beginners will be able to learn the rules of Shogi and experience the fun of this traditional game.
