しめ飾りは新年にむけて、古い年の災いを閉め出し、
新しい年の神様をお迎えする清浄な場所を示す目印として、家庭では玄関先などに飾ります。

今回のワークショップでは、稲作りから手がけた素材を使い、
『鳥お飾り』を藁（わら）を綯（な）い、縄を作るところから制作します。

本格的なしめ飾り作りに挑戦して、2024年の新春を迎えましょう。

Let’s make bird shaped “shimekazari”

Kotohoki (Yasuichiro Suzuki + Takehiro Ando) / Shimekazari Project

“Shimekazari” are decorated at the entrance of houses for the New Year. It is a sign to indicate a clean place to shut out the bad luck of the old year and welcome the God of the new year.

In this workshop, you can make a “shimekazari (bird decoration)” using materials that we have worked on from rice cultivation. We will start from twisting the straw to make a rope.

Let’s welcome the New Year 2024 with a real shimekazari.

*Children below 1st grade of junior high school must be accompanied by an adult.
Participation fee: ¥1,000 /pair
Things to bring: Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (no skirts please).

「ことほき」（鈴木安一郎 と 安藤健浩）はデザインやアートの分野で活動しているクリエイターです。
2人は1999年にしめ飾り作りを始め、藁（わら）を綯（な）うという一つの手作業からなる造形の面白さに惹かれ、日本の稲作と手仕事の文化を広く紹介する目的でしめ飾りプロジェクトを立ち上げました。
